About Us

In 1925 John Taylor started the company in Bolton offering electrical maintenance services to the local factories and mills. Frank Brogden joined the company aged 14 in the 1930’s serving his apprenticeship and later serving in the Merchant Navy. After the war he returned to J.Taylor Electrical Contractors and became a Director. In 1948 the company was registered as a Limited Company.

Concentrating on commercial & industrial installations, maintenance and service contracts for local industries, over the next three decades the company continued to expand and offer electrical maintenance to schools, nursing homes, libraries, engineering works, hospitals and offices.

In the 1980's Franks daughter Hilary and husband Jeff Hibbert took over the company and during the next 35 years J. Taylor Electrical Contractors Ltd. was firmly established as a reliable, professional and courteous company, providing high quality maintenance services and bespoke installations and electrical testing services to local industries, offices and the domestic sector, and design and installation of general power and lighting systems and intelligent lighting systems to the commercial & industrial sectors.

We specialise in flameproof wiring, working in hazardous and flameproof areas, electrical wiring to fume cupboard’s for the pharmaceutical sector and wiring to industrial skid units for the pharmaceutical & oil & gas industry. In 2014 Jeff and Hilary passed down the directorship to their son Paul. Over the past 90 years J. Taylor Electrical Contractors Ltd. have been involved with all aspects of electrical installations and have seen many changes within the industry, yet our standards and professionalism have remained constant.
